Technology intrigues me. I’m excited by how it can be applied to make life easier, more enjoyable, more productive. Solving a problem and creating something new both give me a buzz.
I used to work for the BBC, I started in 1997 as a software engineer in BBC Education writing Java apps, Perl CGI and wrestling with Oracle databases. Since then I've increasingly worked as a technical producer and commissioner. This year I'm trying to get my hands dirtier -- programming, soldering and building my own stuff.
I went to Make Faire in San Mateo this year, it was brilliant.
